It is a pleasure for me to welcome our guests on National Feed Website which should hopefully reflect our activities to the local and GCC societies and through to the world. We hope it would also be as a transparent source of information about our activities to out customers and the society which reflect our approach to strategic issue of food security as been manifested in His Majesty's Directives to establish the Food Security Committee. Our company's approach to the food security question counts heavily on developing home natural resources potential to maximize national capacity for food production.
Among other resources available in the Sultanate, the traditional livestock sector which is the focus area of our investment activities had historically possessed this potential. However, the least of it has so far been put in action. National Feed has successfully completed execution of its feed plant of 144,000 MT/year capacity, and placed it into operation in May 2005. The plant includes a roughage processing plant which is the only one in the GCC area. In 2008 National Feed went into a restructuring process following a Ministerial Decision. The restructuring process included increasing share capital from OMR 2.7 million to OMR 6.6 million with 60% government shareholding and 40% farming community. With more government involvement the restructuring process has redirected the company to its core objectives with financial and manpower support that can enable it to accomplish its objectives. We are confident that the achievement of our objectives requires the collaboration of public and communal efforts and the efforts of herding community in particular. And it is an occasion to call on all stakeholders at all levels to shoulder with us so that these noble objectives would be reached. Finally, we are deeply indebted to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Saeed for the support to the national agricultural sector.
